Virtue of Patience and Motherhood – A Poem

I never was a patient person

I never wanted eventual

I wanted immediate

And as much as I loved immediate

I couldn’t get it at once

No one does

The dull aftermath of waiting

Would kill me

You came

And taught me to speak

To today in leisure

Yes, tomorrow is there

The thrilling, exhilarating tomorrow

But there are tens of things

In today that never fail to

Dazzle me now.
